Spitzkoppe

The “Matterhorn” of Namibia

The Spitzkoppe is a 1.5 hour drive from the Lodge and has a height of 1,728 meter above sea level. Its nickname is the ‘Matterhorn of Namibia’. Thousands of years ago the San lived here in caves, leaving beautiful rock paintings. You can climb the ‘Bushmans Paradise’, where many of the paintings are located and from where you have stunning views of the rock formations.

A perfect photo opportunity is the famous Bogenfels, a rock arch that is very photogenic. The Lodge also provides this excursion with a guide, which takes practically all day. We bring along a tasty packed lunch, made by our chef Ron, so a successful day is guaranteed.
