The originally German town of Swakopmund has to be the most beautiful town in Namibia. Coloured old German houses make it an attractive town. There are outdoor cafes, many shops and buildings worth seeing. This oceanfront town has a beach. However, Swakopmund is located near the Atlantic Ocean, so often there is a cold wind blowing. It can be 20 °C near the ocean, whereas five minutes inland it can be more than 30 °C. From here you can book an excursion to visit Namib Desert or Walvis Bay to spot whales, seals and flamingos. In Swakopmund you can enjoy lunch at the Jetty and experience delicious oysters with great views of the ocean. Yummy!
